A Community in Need – And a Chance to Help

In the heart of Calderdale, more families than ever are facing impossible choices between paying bills, putting food on the table, and staying warm. The pressures of the cost of living crisis are pushing many people to the brink. But Calderdale Council, together with the Community Foundation for Calderdale (CFFC), is determined to make sure no one is left behind.

To support this mission, they’ve launched the latest round of the Calderdale Resilience Fund, with grants of up to £7,000 for community and voluntary groups providing advice, practical support, and emergency help to residents in crisis.

Why This Matters Now

Cllr Danielle Durrans, Calderdale Council’s Cabinet Member for Public Services and Communities, explained:

> “Sadly, we’re seeing more people than ever reaching crisis point. Demand for debt advice and welfare support is incredibly high. But we know there are brilliant local groups who are trusted by our communities, doing life-changing work. We want to back these groups with real funding so they can continue to make a differdifferencel

Steve Duncan, CEO of CFFC, added:

> “We’re proud to partner with Calderdale Council on the Resilience Fund. This funding will help grassroots organisations respond quickly when families face emergencies — preventing people from falling into deeper hardship.”
